Cascades Verdae to Host Public Forum on State of Economy

Beginning April 21st, The Cascades Verdae, South Carolina’s premier continuing care retirement community, will host a series of economic talks that are free and open to the public.  Ken Bolt, CEO of Banyan Senior Living, parent company for The Cascades Verdae, and COO, Sandy Knezevich, have invited the public to join them for an open discussion addressing questions and concerns regarding retirement community viability.

Edwin Waingart, first Vice President of Morgan Keegan, will join Bolt and Knezevich to lead the forum. Waingart is a financial advisor and manages approximately $60 million in client assets.  Prior to joining Morgan Keegan, he was a financial advisor with UBS. Waingart has held various management positions encompassing responsibility for financial planning, analysis, reporting and consulting, at companies such as Fluor Corporation, PL Industries and Digital Equipment Corp.

Waingart will cover topics such as the current state of the economy, as well as provide an update on investments and the most recent statistics on the housing market.  At the forum, Bolt also plans to address apprehensions about market conditions surrounding retirement and finance, and express his confidence in the sustainability of continuing-care facilities. “Planning for retirement can be intimidating, especially in today’s economy,” Bolt said.

“Uncertain economic times call for reassurance. We want to use this forum to assure the community that the Cascades Verdae will provide support and care for its residents at every stage of retirement, now and in the future.”

The forum will begin at 3:30 p.m. in The Cascades’ Clubhouse and is free and open to the public. To reserve your place or for more information, please contact the concierge at (864) 528-5501 by April 19th.
