Verdae announces new floor plans, breaks ground on two available homes in Ruskin Square

Ruskin Square at Hollingsworth Park, located just off Verdae Boulevard in the city of Greenville, is buzzing with new home construction activity. A flavorful blend of classic architecture, pedestrian and bike-friendly streets and a 20-acre park amenity are just a few attractive qualities that are converting home buyers to residents.

Designed as a custom-home community, Ruskin Square offers buyers the chance to build their dream home in a village-style setting. For those who prefer a simplified construction process, Verdae Development offers a group of pre-approved and pre-priced land and home packages.

“Selecting a piece of property and building a home can be overwhelming for some people,” stated Debra Baker, director of sales. “With our current resource of fifteen plans from multiple builders, many buyers find it easy to select a plan that not only meets the quality and architectural requirements of the neighborhood, but also a home that meets their needs and their budget. It has streamlined the process, increasing home sales and expediting home starts.”

The newest pre-approved land/home plans range from the upper $200,000s to the low $400,000s.  Two of the designs are under construction and available for sale now. The Juliet plan, a three-bedroom, three and a half bath home, is being built with an all-brick exterior by Peery Homes at 31 Hollingsworth Drive and is priced at $416,500. The Cumberland Valley plan, with three bedrooms, two and a half baths, is being constructed by LS Homes at 103 Kimborough Street and includes upgraded interior features for the price of $307,900.

“We’ve been a builder within the community since the project was announced and I’ve had the pleasure to work with several customers here to build custom homes,” said Jon Peery, owner of Peery Homes. “In the past year, I’ve seen the pre-approved plan concept take off here, so I know it’s helpful to buyers. The new home that we’re building on Hollingsworth Drive (The Juliet) is a plan that has been constructed within Ruskin Square multiple times, but if you drive around I bet you will have a hard time picking the homes that match it.”

Buyers also appreciate the value that is offered in the collection of pre-priced plans. Several of the designs can be built for under $110 per square foot, including the land and an impressive list of quality construction features. With interest rates at record lows, the combination of a ready-to-build home package in a premium location is changing the landscape of Ruskin Square.

“We try very hard to maximize every inch of livable space to create a home that ‘lives well’ for each customer,” said Brian Lazarus, co-owner of LS Homes. “In a classic community like Ruskin Square, homes must also be architecturally authentic. The newest plans provided by LS Homes are a product of our collaboration with Allison Ramsey Architects to create distinctive home packages ranging from 2,000-3,200 sq. ft. and priced from $289,000-$356,300. The new plans are being received very well already.”
