Gage Weekes and Dan Klausner named to SCBIZ News’ inaugural South Carolina 500 (SC 500)

SCBIZ News has named Gage Weekes, President and CEO of Hollingsworth Funds, and Dan Klausner, CEO of Verdae Development, Inc., to its inaugural South Carolina 500 (SC 500)—a new editorial feature recognizing influential and impactful leaders across business, nonprofits, government, and higher education.

Verdae Development, Inc. is a subsidiary of Hollingsworth Funds, established to steward and execute the long-term vision for the 1,100-acre Verdae master-planned community—aligning responsible growth and place-based development with Hollingsworth Funds’ philanthropic mission and long-term commitment to Greenville.

The SC 500 is editorially produced and research-based, and the list does not rank leaders.

Gage Weekes | President & CEO, Hollingsworth Funds

Weekes first came to Greenville as a consultant with Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors to support the Hollingsworth Funds Board’s philanthropic strategy, later joining Hollingsworth Funds in 2012. He became President and CEO in 2018.

Today, Weekes leads Hollingsworth Funds’ work aligning the organization’s assets and investments in pursuit of a Greenville where equitable opportunities exist for all to advance and thrive, while also serving in a range of civic and community leadership roles.

As CEO of Verdae Development, Inc., the master developer of the 1,100-acre Verdae community, Klausner is responsible for stewarding one of the most significant mixed-use projects in South Carolina—one that already supports more than 8,200 residents, 160 businesses, and over 5,200 jobs, with much more to come.

In addition to overseeing the continued evolution of Verdae, Klausner is leading the next chapter of growth along Laurens Road through Bolden Street District: a 90-acre mixed-use redevelopment designed to reimagine one of Greenville’s most visible corridors and create a connected, sustainable destination for generations.
